Root of the poemsPoetic inspiration was not a natural gift to me; even though over time, like most people, I had experienced a plethora of poetry worthy circumstances and personalities. But it wasn't until I came across poems by Robert Frost that some of my experiences tickled my mind.
I started looking for poems I could understand and that my brain wanted to struggle with memorizing and found ones like "Fire and Ice," "Once by the Pacific," "A Passing Glimpse," "The Road Not Taken" (of course), and other favorites by Frost; "IF" by Rudyard Kipling; "Sea Fever" by John Masefield; "High Flight" by John Magee; "Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carroll; "The Naming of Cats" and a few others by T.S. Eliot; and "Bein' Green" by Joe Raposo. Always challenged by memorization, pounding them into gray matter has been a labor of love; and to keep up perseverance as time passed by, I convinced myself that this could be a long-term test for dementia or even Alzheimer's. Of course, that just fed anxiety based on life's long-term, hide-and-seek, memory-retention roller coaster. So, I found it better to enjoy the ones that stuck, while quietly resting before sleep or seeking a short escape from the world's spinning pace, to keep reviewing and wrestling with those that won't cooperate, and to keep searching for new ones to tickle the mind anew. That has been my catalyst for attempting poetry; and this modest collection, a semi-gloss reflection in the light of a poetic master's polish, was inspired by life's experiences and inspiration from discussions and circumstances of those I've known over time. I hope they may foster joyful and/or contrary, contemplative thoughts. |

In the mid-seventies, I worked as a copy machine technical service representative in downtown Denver, which required wearing enclosed shoes throughout the day. The work was fairly physical and entailed carrying a tool case, going back and forth for parts between the machine location and my car or a supply depot, and just pounding the pavement. These activities led to sweaty feet and created the perfect environment for athlete's foot.
I did this work routine for ten years and during that time struggled with all the painful athlete's foot symptoms. I tried many different remedies including sprays, powders, and home remedies. Nothing worked for my case on a permanent basis, so I started reading more about tinea pedis and experimenting with my own ideas. I finally did find a remedy that cured my between-the-toes case; and I have been free of open cuts, oozing, and rotted white skin for more than fifteen years. After this long, athlete's-foot-free period and with the capability of affordable self-publishing, I decided to publish the process along with a demo link detailing the procedure. My hope is that the process and routine presented here will completely destroy this tenacious and painful alignment for those currently fighting it as I did so many years ago. This is a home remedy that worked for my severe between-the-toes case and is not a guaranteed solution for your particular case, especially for severe cases where the athlete's foot is not confined to the toes. Also, this is not a substitute for professional medical advice for your unique case. I can only assure readers that the procedure presented here cured my severe, painful, oozing, and putrid between-the-toes case completely; and that I have been free of full blown athlete's foot for more than fifteen years. |
